Our approach

A good website starts with understanding your business and the people you want to reach. Here is how we turn that understanding into a website you can use and maintain.

01

Understand your business and customers

We start with the people your website needs to serve and the decisions it should help them make.

What we do

We learn what you offer, why customers choose you, what they need to know, and what might stop them getting in touch. We look at existing content, useful evidence, and the practical constraints around the project.

What we need from you

Your knowledge of the business, examples of customer questions, existing material, and the people who will make decisions. Rough notes and conversations are useful; finished copy is not a prerequisite.

What you review

An audience brief and project priorities: who we are writing for, what they need, what success means, and what still needs investigating.

02

Plan your website and its content

We turn that understanding into a clear website plan and editing tools that fit your business.

What we do

We plan the pages, navigation, and next steps for customers. We identify the words and images each page needs, how information is shared, and who should be able to edit or publish it.

What we need from you

Help us check that the plan reflects how your business works. Together we decide what content you will supply and where you want us to lead.

What you review

A website and content plan, with representative examples. You can see what we intend to build, what information is needed, and how your team will maintain it.

03

Develop the content, design, and website

You see the direction in working pages before it is carried through the whole website.

What we do

We write or refine the content, develop the visual direction, and build the website and its editing tools together. We start with representative pages, review them with you, then complete the rest of the site.

What we need from you

Check business facts, give feedback on the proposed direction, and review the content. We guide the decisions and explain the trade-offs rather than expecting you to solve technical problems.

What you review

Real pages with realistic content, followed by the complete website. We review the layout and interactions on phones, tablets, and larger screens, alongside keyboard use and loading behaviour.

04

Check, launch, and look after your website

We agree when the website is ready and make sure you know what happens after launch.

What we do

We check the content, links, and agreed functionality, prepare the launch, and introduce you to the editing tools. If you are replacing a site, we agree what happens to existing content, important addresses, and access before the changeover.

What we need from you

Approve the content and final website, confirm launch arrangements, and identify who needs access or help with updates.

What you review

A website ready for the agreed launch, an introduction to managing it, and a clear arrangement for hosting, maintenance, support, and further work.

Clear expectations as we go

We agree the scope, price, timing, and your level of involvement before work begins. If new information changes the plan, we discuss what it means for the work, cost, and timing before proceeding.

These stages guide the work, but content and design develop together. Trying a real page may reveal a better way to organise information. We bring those decisions back to the plan.

You can arrive with a clear brief or ask us to help work it out. We can develop content with you and arrange help with updates after launch.
